Resumen
Beware the creatures lurking in the deep... 'The tale you are about to read was told to me by Cicero over many long and sleepless nights. It tells of wolves, it tells of men, but most of all it tells of a young woman and the many adventures that befell her in the land in which she lived...' Beautiful, daring Anastasia, known as Stacy, is of noble birth. But she discarded a life of suitors and servants to live in the lush forest of the Haven. Embracing her adventurous nature, she suddenly leaves her life in the Haven to set out on a dangerous journey. Buoyed by the memory of Old One, Stacy travels across vast and dangerous seas to the forbidden land of the white wolves, taking the name Khalea. In the land of Rhonnda she meets Alryc, a giant and astronomer, and Elias, captain of the ship the Brora. With their help she voyages to the lost city of Satra. But Satra is besieged from above by barbarian hordes, who constantly strive to protect themselves against those creatures which attack it from below. These 'things' are half-human, half-baboon. Stacy and her friends are imprisoned on Satra, while savage wolves lurk in the darkness if they should escape. Stacy must gain the trust of these wolves to survive. Her training in the Haven is the only way to save herself and her friends.
