Kommissar Jan Schiller ist verzweifelt. Carla, die Frau, die er liebt und die ihn aus ihrer gemeinsamen Wohnung hinausgeworfen hat, ist spurlos verschwunden. Als in einem ausgebrannten Wohnmobil auf dem Straßenstrich im Kölner Süden eine verkohlte Leiche gefunden wird, will Schiller die Ermittlung eigentlich seiner Kollegin Birte Jessen überlassen.
