Some information about " The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes ":
For years, Dr. John H. Watson accompanied his friend and companion Sherlock Holmes in solving a variety of crimes and mysteries. Beginning in the 1880s and extending into the 20th century, Holmes continually proved his status as the world's most brilliant and successful detective. This is evidenced by Watson's written notes, which he conscientiously compiled, recounting the adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Many of these accounts have been published and are well known to a wide readership.
However, concerning some cases, Watson refrained from publishing his notes throughout his life. This was due to different motivations: Often he felt compelled to temporarily keep the actual events and background secret for moral, criminal or financial reasons; occasionally it was also a matter of avoiding a possible political, legal or social scandal or of not damaging his own or Holmes' reputation. Some of Watson's notes, however, were simply inadvertently not published because other things of greater importance or urgency were in the foreground at that time.
In the series "The New Adventures", some of Dr Watson's notes on Sherlock Holmes' cases, previously kept under lock and key, are now being made available to the public for the first time.
We hope you will enjoy listening to our audio books.
