Christian Brodie is een man zoals velen. Een nette, trouwe man, met af en toe een uitglijder. Hij accepteert het leven zoals het is en heeft de illusie dat hij thuis de broek aan heeft. Dat maakt hem gelukkig. Totdat hij tot het besef komt dat hij in een gevangenis leeft en dat anderen alles voor hem bepalen. Het maakt hem boos. Om eraan te ontsnappen moet hij keuzes maken, wat hem naar een donkere kant van zichzelf brengt.
