Desiree runt samen met haar partner Thomas een befaamd sterrenrestaurant in Bergen. Wat de culinaire gasten niet weten is dat 'La Belle Vie' op de rand van de afgrond balanceert, en dat de eigenaars ten einde raad zijn. Desirees moeder nodigt hen uit voor een week vakantie in het mondaine Cortina d'Ampezzo in de Dolomieten, waar de familie al generaties lang een huis bezit.
