Summary

College lecturer Suvendu is a happy and content middle-class character who has deftly segregated his ideal self from his actual self with a liberal dose of practical considerations relating to bourgeois pursuits and comforts in life. Suvendu employs an underage poor village girl in his household as domestic help but feels contented by the sight of her growing sheen courtesy of the regular food that she receives at his house.
