Tante Dete nimmt die kleine Heidi mit nach Frankfurt ins Haus der Familie Sesemann. Die Tochter des Hauses, Klara, kann nicht laufen und muss im Rollstuhl sitzen. Die beiden Mädchen werden dicke Freundinnen, doch Heidi leidet sehr unter der Trennung von ihrem Großvater. Und außerdem hat sie fürchterliches Heimweh nach den Schweizer Bergen.
