"Das Opernglas" ist eine Novelle von Gabriele Reuter: Ruhig lag das Meer, blass und silbergrau. Ein leichter Morgendunst schwebte über dem Wasser. Schon blaute der Himmel, und die siegende Sonne wandelte die Milchfarbe des Nebels zu matt schimmerndem Opal. Lange, weiße Schaumstreifen zerrannen am Ufer. Die Luft war weich und still. Man hörte das murmelnde Anschlagen der Wellen am Quai.
