De relatie van de postbode Wiel is pas verbroken en hij heeft het helemaal gehad met zijn leven. Daarom laat hij zich overplaatsen naar het dorpje Oosterend op Texel, waar hij intrekt bij een oudere vrouw. Het leven in een klein dorp is totaal anders dan in de hectische stad. Hij moet eraan wennen. Ook is het voor hem nieuw dat alle mensen hem kennen en dat je niets ongemerkt kunt doen. Hij ontmoet Tessa, een mooie vrouw met opvallend blauwe ogen. Ze hebben een vluchtige affaire, die door Tessa wordt verbroken. Haar dochtertje Noor heeft haar vader verloren en haar moeder wil niet dat ze opnieuw wordt gekwetst. Wiel krijgt haar echter niet uit zijn hoofd. Terwijl hij zich steeds meer geaccepteerd voelt in de hechte gemeenschap, moet hij alles uit de kast halen om Tessa blijvend voor zich te winnen.
