Die Tagebücher von Martin Walser über die Jahre 1974-1978 sind beides: Selbstzeugnis und zeithistorisches Dokument. Sie gewähren Einblick in das schwierige Verhältnis von Autor und Kritiker. Der Tagebuchschreiber offenbart sich als Beobachter der eigenen Verletzbarkeit, aber auch als Zeitgenosse. Wie schon der vorherige Tagebuchband (1963-1973) ist dieser Band "eine Fundgrube brillanter Etüden, Miniaturen, Aphorismen" (FAZ). Mod.: Denis Scheck.
