Lümmel ist kein normaler Esel, ist er nicht, denn Lümmel hat drei anstatt zwei Ohren. Als Lümmel wegen seiner drei Ohren von den anderen Eseln verstoßen wird, trifft er auf die Häsin Lilo. Um Lümmel zu trösten, schlägt Lilo ihm vor, Körperteile zu tauschen. Aus der Häsin und dem Esel werden zwei Ha-sel, aus dem dazu kommenden Fuchs drei Fu-ha-sel.
