The Book of Nehemiah was originally combined with the Book of Ezra , but became seperated early on in the Christian era. Together they represent the final sections in the historical narrative of the Old Testament. Ezra depicts how the God of Israel influenced a Persian king into choosing a leader to carry out three tasks: Rebuilding the temple, purifying the community, and the rebuilding of the walls of Jerusalem. It is the final task that is covered by Nehemiah in this wonderful story... This book is beautifully voiced by The Bible Reading Collective...
