La Traviata - erzählt als Hörspiel mit berühmten Melodien und Arien. Verdis tragische Oper wird mit großartigen Schauspielerstimmen, effektvollen Geräuschen und reichlich Original-Opern-Musik erzählt. Vor jedem Akt erfolgt eine interessante Einführung und man erfährt einiges über Leben und Werk von Giuseppe Verdi (1813 - 1901). Während eines rauschenden Festes verliebt sich der junge und reiche Alfredo in die schwerkranke Violetta. Nach anfänglichem Zögern erwidert sie seine Zuneigung. Alfredos Vater, ein wohlhabender Geschäftsmann, ist gegen eine Verbindung der beiden Liebenden und treibt sie auseinander. Als er einige Zeit später seinen Fehler einsieht, sich Violetta entschuldigt und den beiden schließlich die Hochzeit erlaubt, ist es beinahe zu spät dafür. Überglücklich, jedoch unrettbar krank, stirbt Violetta in den Armen ihres Geliebten Alfredo.
