Für diesen Zweck werden 400 Millionen menschliche Embryonen auf den Weg geschickt. Mit an Bord: 102 Androiden. Sie träumen, sie essen, sie haben Sex und begehen Verbrechen. Doch schon bald kommt es zu den ersten Problemen: Die Embryonen können nicht geboren werden ... zumindest nicht ohne drastische Veränderungen. Wird der neue Heimatplanet der Menschheit am Ende von Menschen besiedelt? Oder von etwas völlig anderem?
