Pushkin's tale 'The Stationmaster' is a vivid example of sentimentalism in Russian literature. A young hustler landowner gets to a godforsaken backwater station, where he falls in love with the daughter of a poor caretaker ... All in all, the prose cycle 'The Belkin Tales' by Alexander Pushkin includes such famous stories as 'The Snowstorm', 'The Shot', 'The Undertaker' and 'The Young Lady-Peasant Woman'. Many of them are known from the wonderful film adaptations of the Soviet period.
