Sommer 1954: Thomas Mann reist mit seiner Frau Katia nach Düsseldorf, um aus seinem neuem Roman "Felix Krull" zu lesen. Sie steigen im Hotel Breidenbacher Hof ab, dem ersten Haus am Platz. Doch dort logiert bereits Klaus Heuser, eine ehemals große Liebe von Thomas Mann. Die mögliche Begegnung der beiden bestimmt fortan den Aufenthalt der Manns und sorgt für größte Unruhe - zusätzlich zu dem Aufruhr, den der Besuch des Schriftstellers im Nachkriegsdeutschland ohnehin auslöst. Das WDR-Hörspiel fängt die Atmosphäre der 50er-Jahre gekonnt ein: höchst amüsant und voll unvergesslicher Figuren.
