Ganapati is one of the famous Telugu novels, written by Chilakamarthi Lakshmi Narasimham. The story of Ganapati revolves around the villages in the East Godavari district. The story tells about a Brahmin family in the social setting in 1910-1920. Talking about the social practices of Kanyasulkam and many others of those times, the story runs in a comical way. The author majorly focuses on the protagonist Ganapati who is lazy, innocent, proud and has no goal. The hilarious situations that he fall into creating fun for the listeners. చిలకమర్తి లక్ష్మి నరసింహం కలం నుండి జాలువారిన అద్భుతమైన హాస్య నవల 'గణపతి'. హాస్యాన్ని వాడుకొని సమాజం లో ని పరిస్థుతలని, ఒకప్పటి సామాజిక స్థితి గతులని ఎత్తి చూపటడమే కాక దానిని సుకుమారం గా విమర్శిస్తూ ఒక మూఢ తరాల కథని ఆహ్లాదకరం గా అద్భుతంగా చెప్పారు లక్ష్మి నరసింహ. గణపతి నవల లో ఉన్న మూడు తరాల కథ, అప్పటి సమాజం లో ని భిన్న పాత్రల ద్వారా సామాజిక దురాచారాలకు అద్దం పట్టింది. అద్వితీయమైన ఈ కథ ని హాస్యం ద్వారా చెప్పడం వలన, కథ, కథలో ని పాత్రలు మనతో ఎక్కువసేపు ఉంటాయి అనడం లో అతిశయోక్తి లేదు.
