Rolf Dorint lijkt het te hebben gemaakt. Hij is getrouwd met de vrouw van zijn leven én heeft als schrijver de perfecte baan, maar zijn inspiratie raakt op en zijn mooie leventje brokkelt af. Dan is er toch een vonk met een mystiek verhaal, dat zichzelf lijkt te schrijven. Samen met zijn buurjongen Luuk bouwt hij het verhaal op dat steeds diepere sporen in zijn leven achterlaat. Maar er is iets mis.
